28th November 2005 - Area Go Karting in Colne {moszoomthumb imgid=376} On a cold & wintry evening in Colne our intrepid duo of Ogilvie and Anderson (seeing as the other 2 didnt bloody turn up!) arrived in Colne ready to show Area 34 a thing or two about racing. The -2 degrees added a real sense of being freezing to the atmosphere. {moszoomthumb imgid=379} As the checkered flag was lifted, Anderson started his challenge from the back of the grid, and through dogged determination managed to get no further. But, as the hour mark was reached, Rossendale had fought their way up to 2nd from bottom with the prospect of getting frostbite now a reality. Suggestions that the kart was not designed for Ogilvie's bulk were made but no handicap points awarded. {moszoomthumb imgid=377} Given that there were only two drivers, the switch over back to Ogilvie who was by this stage completely knackered coupled with a dash of Isotonic Lucozade (and a small smattering of potatoe pie) completed and Rossendale pressed for the advantage. The kart by this stage was showing real signs of fatigue, but a replacement was not offered. {moszoomthumb imgid=378} As lap 284 approached (thats 142 laps each with only 2 drivers ahem, please note Roo & Martin, obviously out on the razle) Rossendale had hit 4th position out of 8, and it was there we finished, unable to lift our arms or walk. A brilliant night and thanks to Blackburn Greys for organising!
