Round Table Members from across the Area met on a misty Saturday morning to jump 120ft down from the top of Peel Tower, Ramsbottom. Over £5,000 was raised by Tablers in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust. Rossendale Round Table Membership officer, Duncan Ogilvie, is pictured below bracing himself for the drop. You can see more pictures from the event here.
John Mousley, Rossendale Round Table Treasurer, said
"120 feet didn't sound high, but standing at the top of the tower you realise that it is over 10 storeys and a long way down. When you're scrambling over the brickwork, all you can repeat to yourself is 'Don't look down. Don't look down'. The hardest part was actually letting go of the top of the tower with my left hand because that's the point you're committed and have to put your trust into the equipment. Once you're actually moving, you relax a bit and can look around and hear the shouts of support from friends and family. I would like to thank the organisers and hope that the Anthony Nolan Trust has had a successful day. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would do it again if asked."
