| On a drizzly yet mildish Friday morning, we assembled at the Tup Bridge lights, ready to help Pudsey and his pals as in previous years. Unlike previous years, we were activbely setting out not to incur the wrath of our friendly community support officers, and so we enlisted the help of two superheros to ensure the safety and welfare of our collectors. Under the watchful eye of Batman and Conceptman, the (slighter lighter than usual) early morning traffic were encouraged to part with their pennies, and from 06:45 to 09:30 the ever-generous Rossendale motorists donated with largely good grace. | | Batman enjoyed special requests from youngsters keen to see him sprint repeatedly round the corner to where cars had puuled up to donate. Obviously given the exceptional fitness of Batman, these excursions were greatly enjoyed by all. In any event, in excess of a sterling £1,500 was raised, an amount that we will creatively look to significantly increase next year. Thanks to all who gave their money & time so generously.
